LOVE YOUR LASHES!!

 

Hi Everyone!!

So this is a post on my all time favourite beauty thing in life!! FALSE lashes!! In the above picture I, of course have my lashes on! They are ARDELL lashes and I have the Demi wispies on. I prefer to wear mascara as well as i like the full on bold look but it is optional. My favourites are the invisiBands (as shown below, they are around £5.49 in superdrug) my opinion is they look better on the lash line and are easier to fit  to your eye shape better with a more natural feel unlike the ones with the thick band.



If you have read my previous blog posts you will know I am absolutely 100% obsessed and cannot live without these beauties!!! So any lash companies reading this, feel free to send me some, haha!!

I live in my lashes and sleep in them, that's either silliness right there or pure dedication!! I havent decided which yet so I'm going with a mixture of both for now!!haha! Obv you don't have to wear them all the time,they are good for wearing occassionally if you have a special occassion or a night out to go to. They add instant glamour and make the eye look impressive!! Buy a pair, have fun and play around! There are all different ones and these days they are everywhere!

I use Revlon precision lash glue in black as it comes with the little brush which you can just paint on the band direct. Instead of being going into why i like it so blimin much check out the earlier post/review i did!!! Its the most amazing glue I have come across and is definately a regular purchase of mine! This costs around £5.99 but is well worth the price.



The different types of lashes!

1, The ones I wear (as above) strip lashes! So many choices, i actually love the look of all of these!!



2. Individual lashes


These are brilliant for building the look you want. You can put as many on as you like to acheive the desired affect. They come in small,medium and long. The multi packs have a few of each in them in order for you to add definition to the eye or if you like all one length they can be purchased in these 3 lengths. All you do is use a pair of tweezers to pick them out the packet, dip the knot/end in some glue and apply on to of the lashes as close to the lash line you can get. They are fiddly but can be made as natural or as thick as you wish. These are around £4 and can be picked up anywhere.

3. Eyelash extensions



Although you can buy these yourself, i personally do not advise applying them. You would need to find a trained eyelash technician. The application is literally one hair on one lash using 2 pairs on tweezers, one to separate the lashes to isolate just one hair and the other to adhere the extension to it.
With these the benefit is they last 4-6 weeks depending on where the lash is in its cycle at the time of application but like nails you can have in fills when you start noticing they are looking sparse. I have done these  in the past on many clients and everyone loves them as they do look like you naturally have long lucious lashes and the difference to the eye is crazy. You can swim, sauna and shower in these and they will not budge if applied properly so are perfect for when you go on holiday and you dont want to wear mascara but can still look great pool or beach side!! To get a full set you are looking at between £40-90 depending on location and salon etc.

I, of course have had to try all of these and to be honest they are all as good as eachother in different ways. I now just stick to the strip ones as i have got so used to them and the look they provide! We are all different and have different preferences and views so find the type that suits you and you will never look back!! They are addictive!!!


The celebrity who I would say has the most gorgeous lashes has got to be (for me) Kim Kardashian! According to reports she has eyelash extensions applied regularly to maintain the sultry eye look she always seems to have going on in pics!!



I have to admit I have worn false lashes for years now and my own lashes have taken a beating as i haven't always taken care when removing them! I tend to just rip them off instead of getting the lash adhesive remover!!

A little tip though which seems to work and take them off easily without tearing all your lashes out is soaking a cotton ball in olive oil and gently pressing it on the eye for a few seconds until the lash band becomes loose. It also moisturises you eyelids at the same time- double bubble!!!!



On the very rare occassion i take my lashes off, in order to nourish my natural ones i will apply some vaseline from the roots to the tips to them. It seems to accelerate growth as well. So that's my cheap version of a lash treatment! haha! You can buy a lash serum with all different vitamins and oils in them which yes, do work but they can be pricey. I just stick to my little tub of vaseline! I have one for lips, one for the face and body as it can add a little dewey shine to cheekbones and to sort dry patches out, and one for my lashes as its not very hygenic to use one pot for all these uses!! So there you go!

DIY STYLE!!-Beauty treatments at home!

Hi Everyone!!

I thought i would do a little post on the little treatments you can do at home to get skin flawless! Going to the salon/spa is expensive and lets face it we don't all have the time or the money! You can just do simple things using things you probably already have at home or can grab easily on the cheap which for me work just as well!!


Steaming



You really dont need to go out and buy a beauty steamer!All you need is a bowl of freshly boiled water from the kettle!! Put your head over the bowl and put the towel over your head-its that simple and it is the best way to thouroughly deep clean your pores!! It is optional to add things to the water. For oily skin you could use a drop of tea tree oil or a squeeze of lemon juice, For sensitive skin a chammomile tea bag and for normal skin any essential oil you fancy e.g rose. To help aid sleep lavender oil would be a good one to use. Due to the hot temperature this will open the pores and drag all the impurities including traces of make up, dust and toxins etc from the skin leaving you with fresh clean skin hence preventing blemishes.


Lip Scrub

                       

 

I love this as i suffer from chapped lips and its the most unattractive look ever!! Picking your skin off your lips also is painful as when you only mean to take a bit off you end up ripping off more than you bargained for lol! ouchy!!This is great and so simple and you can make different flavours! Go to LUSH and get some inspiration for flavours even though everytime i walk in one of those shops i come out with a banging headache as the scents are so strong and powerful!haha! LUSH do lip scrubs but why buy one when you can make your own with stuff you most likely have shoved in the cupboard! Then once you have put it in a cute pot you just take a smidge and rub all over your lips and watch all the dead skincells fall off!! Then when you have soft plush lips just add your favourite lippie!!

Just mix 1tbsp Honey, 1tbsp sugar and 1tbsp olive oil togther. Then add any sort of flavourings! I like mint, vanilla or coconut! But whatever you like! Lemon, lime,strawberry,coffee, chocolate etc!!Try it, its amazing!!


Honey mask benefits



Ohh Honeeey!!! Honey has so many properties to help different skintypes:

Acne prone- Honey is naturally antibacterial so is great for acne prevention
Anti ageing- Contains antioxidants therefore slowing down the ageing processs
Dull skin- Great to create a glow as is a natural moisturizer and skin reviver
Pores- Honey clarifies pores and opens them up making them easier to unclog

Mask: 1 tbsp honey, 1tbsp oats, 1 egg

Mix these 3 together and hey presto you have a mask which you can just slap on, leave until dried and then rinse off with warm water. Plus will cover 4 skin problems in one hit!! BOOM!!



Dark under eye circles redeemer




Potatoes are great for lightening dark under eye circles due to a enzyme in them. This enzyme is used in some cosmetics because of its lightening purposes. The starch seems to even out any redness which you may get from broken capillaries which are under the skin. These mainly are more prominent on the eyelids as the skin on the eye is a very thin layer. Never drag the skin under tthe eye or be too heavy handed as this could cause more wrinkles. Use your ring finger to apply maake up to this area as that has the lightest touch.

Eye cure: Grate a potato and squeeze any excess water out, then grate some cucumber and do the same. Mash up and apply to the eye area. Not only does the potatoe do its magic the cucumber will refresh, cool and soothe the eye to awaken the look of tired peepers!!


Bath time detox



Green tea has some incredible health benefits when you drink it. But bathing in it really lifts your spirits! Also it draws out any harmful toxins and will heal any open sores or wounds which you may have on your body. It contains vitamin and antioxidants that will soothe, replenish and help your body fight illnesses. It also contains anti inflammatory properties too so can reduce pain in the neck and back where the muscles can get tight and in knots from the daily strain of life! I know this from sitting at a computer all the time e.g right now lol!! So next time you bath lob a few green tea bags in and see if you feel any different!! P.s THE WATER LOOKS HORRIBLE before you even get in lol but it just means the good stuff has been released into the water!!



Well, these are just a few of my favourite things to do at home with the stuff i usually have floating around my house! I could find a beauty thing to do with almost anything i reckon!!lol! New Post.....EEK such a long time since my last one!!

IM BACK!!!

Hi Everyone!!

Sooooo its been such a long time since i last did a blog! I have moved house and just been really busy! I went through a stage of having no internet...again!! Yawn!! haha! Really settled now so thats a good thing, i can get back into blogging!! I have had some really nice emails saying people have missed reading my posts and when is my next one going to be etc so thankyoub and im sorry it has taken me so long!!

I basically am putting these pics up as i have worked hard to shift a few pounds!! In fact i have lost over a stone....so im dead pleased and proud of myself and wanted to share with you! The only problem will be keeping it off!! hmmmmmm!!! We shall see!! The below pic was taken last summer! I think i had a few too many trips to the beer gardens, frappes and ice creams hahaha! Im not moaning at all as i do like this picture but i feel better now having lost a bit!!! Its all about feeling comfortable in your own skin. Thats the real key to being beautifuland feeling it! ! All a woman has to do is wear a smile and that is her best accessory!!..CHEESY but TRUE!!!

You may all be thinking pffft whats she on about lol! I have always been a bubbly confident person and not really cared too much if i put on a bit of weight or whatever but believe it or not i have even more of energy and confidence now!  i used to feel really tired and not want to do much but i feel great now!!If i want a cake though trust me i will have a cake!!!haha!!! I think for me it has been about portion size! I have just halved my portions. Plus i have tried to limit myself to 800- 1000 kcals a day, but only to start with until i saw the results i wanted!! I also took golden Linseeds, which you soak a couple of teaspoons worth in water day and night and then drink. Its not nice at first but you get used to it! Plus the usual things, drinking lots of water and eating fruit and veg!! I would say i have been excercising loads but i havent apart fom the odd phases i go through where i do a few squats,lunges and situps for about 3/4 days but thats about it! hahaa! So if anyone wants to email me any tips or things that have worked for them then that would be awesome!!

I am going to do some make up blogs on new favourite things of mine and how to acheive different looks etc!! This was just a little non make-up related post to just say what iv been doing so sorry if it bored the pants off you!!!

Its getting late and but i thought i would just type a mini blog out!! Ease myself back in gently!!lol!!

Gelly nails!!

Hi everyone!


Well i just want to do a post on the most amazing nail varnish i have come across! When you go to a salon dont your nails look smooth and perfect and then when you get home you cant get that same effect at all, instead what you get is more nail polish around your fingers then a thin coating on your nail!!hahaha i find it funny as its so familiar!! I have quite a steady hand and even i manage to get the corners of my finger!!Below is a little tip!!

Tip- do your nails and dont worry about the excess nail polish until after! if your like me you cant resist and you end up getting the nail polish remover out, putting it on a cotton pad and trying to wipe around little knowing that actually you have transferred fluff onto the other painted nails!!!lol! well if you can hold off it saves alot of frustration. Just carry on and paint your nails as you would, blobs and all! when you are done wait for them to dry completely!! Then go and do the washing up!!! sound mad?!! well for some reason the washing up suds seems to get rid of it all thats on your skin!!! Ok-dont do the washing up neccessarily but run some water with some washing up liquid in swill your hands around in it, not only are your hands soft but all the excess polish will have gone!!! RESULT!!

Anyway back to what im talking about!! This nail polish i have found is called by Barry M and its a range called gelly nails-Hi shine! It's around £3.99 a bottle and its ace!! It also comes in some fantastic fancy  fruity colours! I am currently wearing one called 'prickly pear'!! its a lavender colour and its gorgeous for summer!! It glides on perfect and gives a high quality gel look!! its awesommeee!!!


This is the colour i am wearing! Its lovely! Look at the shine and how smooth its glided on!

revlon precision dark-the best, why?

My new revlon precision dark!

Right! this is the best thing i have come across lately! As many of you peeps that read my blog know i ALWAYS wear lashes, false of course! Why? because i have like 3 eyelashes on each eye!!haha! Well i was shopping in town and i realised the cheap eyelash glue i bought, well it didnt quite hold like i thought it would and my lash almost blew off in the wind! Now some people may find this funny but i was worrying so i nipped into my local superdrug and i bought 'Precision dark' lash adhesive! Phew!! that saved a lot of embarrassment BUT i also stumbled across the best glue i have used!! WHY? Well it is dark so literally doesnt give you white glue lines! it blends with your mascara! Bonus!! Also i have found it holds onto the lashline super well! massive result! I had to write about this because i am sooo amazed by it! If you havent got it- GET IT NOW!!!!!! It's £5 something! Also i love it as it isnt a tube which you get blobs galore and end up coating the whole thing, leaving you with spikey stuck together lashes! You just paint it on with a little brush so is perfect for on the go! I actually re did mine in the shop so thats how easy it is to use! In and out in 2 minutes as it dries so quick as well!! It is as simple as applying a lipgloss, not that you would put this on your lips! So all in all a very successful day out!

MAKE UP ACADEMY COSMETICS-CHEAP AND BRILLIANT!!

Hi everyone!!!

Well it seems ages since i did a post, actually it is but i have been very busy lately and internet connection has been non existant!!

I have discovered (yes i am probably extremely slow in my discovery,lol) and am totally in love and obsessed with the brand MAU, (make up academy), and let me tell you it is really really really cheap and the products are fantastic!! I have found it is exclusive to superdrug!! The whole range is £1!!!! woweeeee!




There are over 100 lippies in the range as well as eyeshadows in matt or pearl (shimmer) colours and they range from all colours of the spectrum! My favourite is the shade 20 which is a matt black, it is perfect for doing eyeliner with and i do my eyebrows using light feathery strokes with an angled brush!! The range also include lipglosses, mascaras, foundations, blushers, nail polishes, eyeliners, glitter sticks! So many products in so many shades! eeek i got so excited when i spotted this!

I totally recommend this brand, the powders and foundations are good as well, they stay put all day, so it is worth a try especially for a pound, instead of being able to only afford one colour at a time with some of the higher end products you can now afford to go nuts and play around with lots of different shades!!! brilliant brilliant brilliant! lol!!

p.s if you wanted to you could see how many shades you can put on your face in one swoop!!!! i may give this a go, hahahahha!!

How to dye your hair without getting in a mess!!lol

Well, if you are like me and more colour goes over your body than on your hair this post is for you!!haha!! I have finally mastered the art of dying your hair without getting colour all over the bathroom!! (It has taken me 24 years though)!! This is what i do so i dont have to spend hours cleaning up after myself!!!

Preparation!

1.  Bin bags! plain old black ones will do but as i love pink even my bin liners are pink!!lol! What i do is step into one and shove my legs through and then make holes with my arms and tie/clip it right up to my neck! (picture is seriously too embarrassing)!!!..u get the idea im sure!!

2. Body lotion! People say to use vaseline but i find just any old body lotion/moisturiser does the trick!! So slather a load of this all over your hair line, ears and neck so if any spillages, and in my case massive blobs drop onto the skin you wont be left looking like you need to see a dermatologist! You can just wipe away with a damp OLD towel!!

3. Face wipes! Everybody has some lurking around and these are very good to just clear away any little drips that may have dropped on your arms, shouldnt be much as lets face it you are wearing a plastic bag up to the neck line and the little plastic gloves that are provided!!


Finally dying your hair!(if you can be bothered after all the prep)hahaha!

1. Hopefully you will have bought a hair dye that is the right colour!! I now only go one or 2 shades lighter or darker than my natural hair colour as this is usually what looks best! I have been every colour of the rainbow, and sometimes not intentionally hehehe!! If you are going for a change i totally advise going to a proper salon otherwise you could end up lookin a million miles away from the lovely ladies they put on the packaging!!!

2. What i like to do first is separate my hair into sections! Obviously everybodys hair length is different so whatever your hair length id say divide into four sections then you should be safe!

3. Always remember the top and front of the hair is where you need most colour so dont concentrate on all the bottom layers and run out of product before you have reached the top! Sounds like common sense but as i dont have much of that i am just mentioning it!!lol!

4. Massage in the product very well so you dont get massive patches and build up of dye, try and get an even coverage through the hair!

5. Leave for the amount of time it states on the box, dont go by the colour of foam/lather which you may have created whilst rubbing in as it bears no resemblance to the finished colour! I have got bored and taken it off as i thought it would be fine judging by the residue but then i had to go and do it all over again as it wasn't properly developed and looked just the same!!lol! Patience is a virtue...says me,heheh!!!

6. When washing out the colour i line the bath with some more trusty bin liners just so you dont turn the bath a funny colour!! Because they are bags the water just sits there and you can easily just pour down plughole quickly without it sitting and developing your bath/shower cubicle the same colour as your hair!!!

7. I love the free conditioner that comes with the hair dye! It prolongs the colour much more than your regular conditioner and seems to give you such silky soft hair! It gives you the hair of when you leave a hairdressers and normal conditioners never acheive that as much, so definately use it, plus it seems to help wash any remains of colour off the scalp!! I don't shampoo my hair after colouring i just use conditioner for the first couple of washes! I think shampoo dries the hair too much! It is optional though!!

8. Wait until the water runs clear and i mean clear!! Many of times i thought 'oh this will do' and then dripped watered down dye around the house without realising! I think it is because your excited to see your new colour, well of course it is but it isnt so fun when your spending more time trying to get drip marks off the carpet or the walls and by the time you have finished your hair has dried into a funny shape!haha! Again personal experience!!!

So hopefully with a few of my little tips in preventing disasters you will be able to enjoy your new hair colour and still enjoy your house!!!!!! If not then at least you get to wear a bin bag!!! hahahah!!
